11/05/2012 Edinburgh Folk Club Songwriters CompetitionMay 11, 2012
I have been given the honour of performing in the annual Edinburgh Folk Clubs songwriting competition. The competition will be held at the Pleasance Cabaret Bar, 60 The Pleasance, Edinburgh on Wednesday June 6th 2012 at 8pm.
I will be put against up to 24 other entrants, featuring the cream of Edinburghs songwriting talent, and all of us hoping for the prestige of winning the coveted competition cup (excuse the alliteration).
This is a first for me, so Im a wee bitty apprehensive at the prospect, but the excitement is kicking in, and Im prepping as best I can, and raring to go.
Im planning to perform one of our newest songs Burke and Hare, a topic that captures the darker side of Edinburghs glorious thread of history, and hope the lyrics are sufficiently accurate and entertaining enough to spark a wee bit of interest amongst the judges and audience.
It would be lovely if you could come along and support me, details can be found here, and its sure to be a great night, with a huge range of talent from a mulitude of ages and influences.
See you all there.
